Welcome to the Village Bookshop Website.
The Village Bookshop is in Middleton-in-Teesdale in County Durham and serves a large rural area in Upper Teesdale. We sell New, Discount and Secondhand Books.
We offer a range of new books, mostly at discount prices, and can order new and second hand books for prompt delivery. We also keep a wide, ever-changing stock of secondhand books for collectors in many subjects, and for those looking for holiday reading. Out of print or rare books can be searched for on your behalf, so if there are any books you are searching for please don't hesitate to contact us.
Country Life Books :
We often have good books in the following subjects: Country Life, Fishing & Shooting, Sporting & Working Dogs. Anything to do with County Durham (particularly Teesdale and Weardale).
The Village Bookshop is run by a charitable Trust to keep a good Bookshop in the Village and to raise Funds for local groups.
In 2012 we gave away over £2000 to local groups including:
- Sure Start at Middleton-in-Teesdale Primary School
- St Mary's Church, Middleton-in-Teesdale
- Holy Trinity Church Eggleston,
- Middleton-in-Teesdale Methodist Church and
- Middleton-in-Teesdale Silver Band.
